Broads Boat Guardianage and Ez Male
I own and race a Yeoman, Monthelie #16, and compete regularly in the three rivers and at regattas around the Broads as well as club racing. I am a member of the Norfolk Punt Club, where I was Commodore in 2022 and 2023, and Snowflakes Sailing Club.
I have held a number of RYA qualifications: Senior Keel Boat Instructor, Day Skipper, Safety Boat and have always enjoyed passing on my knowledge, teaching adults and children to sail.
After 25 years working as a Physics Teacher, mostly at Hellesdon High School in Norwich, I decided it was time to try something new. Which is why I have set up Broads Boat Guardianage. I am excited to be using the skills, knowledge and contacts I have built up to be helping other people get the most out of their precious boats and help them spend as much time as possible out on the rivers enjoying the fabulous Norfolk and Suffolk Broads.
I am non-binary, I reject the rigid binary gender presentation of male and female, and use they/there pronouns.
Ez

I am Ez Male, I have always been a keen sailor and boater since growing up in Cyprus.
I moved to Norfolk 25 years ago, to study for a PGCE in secondary science, and discovered the Broads for the first time. I fell in love immediately, and I have never left! I live in Neatishead where I am lucky enough to be able to cycle up to where my boats are moored and head straight out onto Barton Broad.
My introduction to the Broads was through Hunters Yard, and I have spent a lot of time sailing the Hunters Fleet and have run many trips with young people taking them away for up to a week at a time.
I have owned a number of boats: a large ex-hire motor boat, a Bounty 37 ‘Scarlett’ which I owned and enjoyed for 6 years. During that time I upgraded and rebuilt the interior, modernised and revamped her before selling her on.
